Victrix Vikings.
« on: December 09, 2020, 08:45:47 AM »
I have painted up some Victrix Vikings as no1 son decided he wanted to play some raiding games after watching the Viking series on Amazon. So, here they are.

The initial plan is to use a set of rules he found called Age of Blood, although I am leaning more towards Ravensfeast.

The figures are absolutely lovely, probably the best plastic figures I have seen so far. As usual there is a bit more detail on my blog.

Very nice indeed.

I've been thinking of upgrading my vikings (currently I've got a load of the old GB plastics which are fine, but I'm not a huge fan) and I keep casting my eye over the Vitrix set as an alternative to metal. The computer game Assasins Creed Valhalla, Ravenfeast and the latest Bernard Cornwell book is a heady set of influences and not sure ill be resisting much longer!

I'm assuming you're basing your army on 9th C? Have you toyed with the idea of mixing in some of the Anglo Saxon bodies/heads etc? Not the Huscarls as they will mostly be too late.
