What Happened to the Alphaforge Star Mogul Range?
« on: October 27, 2020, 08:13:57 AM »
Hi!

I'm pottering around with Star Mogul at the moment and was wondering what happened to the miniature range that accompanied it.

I know that Alphaforge went to Megaminiatures and some went on to Armorcast but I can't seem to find out what happened to the likes of the Asteroid Miners, Hydrissians and Demo Bots as it was a nice little range.

Does anyone know if any of them are still available anywhere?

I lucked out years back with some Mephaliens and Hydryssians on eBay and a few web stores who had old stock left, but sadly they're now very hard to find. I often wondered why someone didn't pick these up and re-release them properly.

The moulds and rights were purchased by Omni Miniatures when Johnny sold up.

Omni Miniatures never managed to get them released properly and has since gone AWOL.

That's a real shame as it's a great set of rules and the figures were great fun but neither really got the support the deserved!

Proxying the humans shouldn't be too difficult but the aliens and androids may be a bit of a challenge.

I shall need to get my thinking cap on and see what I can come up with as I really do have a hankering to play it again!

I think the Ghar from Gates of Antares would make good stand-ins for Mephalians.

I think the original pack had a Mephalian handler if I'm not mistaken.
