Has anyone read Romans at War: The Roman Military in the Republic and Empire, Simon Elliott?

Any good? It seems to have a lot of colour illustrations which always serve as inspiration but how in-depth and detailed is the study?

Thoughts please?

Atheling, I will be interested in other’s views. The author is well respected so hopefully a good book. Also fascinated to see that the publishers Casemate released another book “Army of the Roman Emperors” back in 2019.
