Hi
Any recommendations for 28mm magician or apprentice figure, please?. Prefer metal, simple casting or uncomplicated kit, if poss.
Many thanks.

See the Simmoner war band thread for some ideas.

The other thing I have done is to kit bash to GA crew which has several moorish types in it with the wizard kit.

OOP citadel, but if you can find it, its a good fig:

There is also a decent rundown of Araby/Moorish figs here that might be a good jumping off point, perhaps:  http://randomplatypus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=718

I made such a pair of summoners/elementalists from the Frostgrave Wizards kit:

The Female Wizards sprue has a rather large scimitar and perching eagle which are both pretty useful for kitbashing something, but other than that I'd second Will's recommendation of Artizan Designs Moorish command.

I bought this metal turban-wearing camel rider a while ago with the intention of using him as a Frostgrave spellcaster, but I have not got round to it yet. I think he would make a great wizard, he even has a kind of wand!

https://www.grippingbeast.co.uk/SMF01a_Mutatawwia_Warlord_on_Camel--product--4904.html

You could always make a dismounted version of him too, but for simplicity I would probably just treat him as a guy who is dignified and does not want to exert himself, so lets the camel take the strain. Opponent permitting, I would give him a bit of extra movement but say he could not climb stairs or ladders. The additional height would be a double edged sword, as he would be a bigger target.

There are rules for mounted figures in one of the Spellcaster magazines, if you wanted to be a bit more official.

The "official" Frostgrave plastics wizard set include a couple of variously turbanned heads; I've got a very Hollywood-Middle-Eastern caster assembled but nowhere near painted from that sprue. I think there's at least one head in an keffiyeh/head-dress thing as well, it's been a while since I've done any figure building though.

At the risk of sounding like I'm plugging my own stuff. These might be of some use. I originally knocked them up from an image 'Mad Guru's' Afghanistan thread. He (and a few other's) asked if I'd get them cast up. So I did they're isolated figures rather than a full range( at the moment).
I personally intend on using them for my pulp games and my Warhammer Fantasy battle game's ( just need to find the time to finish the rest of the sculpts.)
If they are of use they're currently in the Follies range at 1st Corps Miniatures.

Mark.
