All at Sea - Argonauta
« on: November 21, 2020, 09:40:29 AM »
The series of posts looking at Warlord Games' Third Rates of Renown concludes with the Spanish 80-gun ship of the line Argonauta, built and launched at El Ferrol in June 1798.

Described at the time as one of the best ships in Europe and by Admiral Villeneuve on seeing her fresh out of dry dock newly careened and coppered in Cadiz in April 1805 as looking 'excellent' the Argonauta makes a fine subject to end on.

Often it is better to remain silent and let people think you are stupid than to open your mouth and remove all possible doubt.

A wonderful series showing bucket loads of skill and artistry.  I enjoyed every one.

The Warlord models are excellent little beauties too.

Oh, how I wish I had your talent , dedication and disposable income.

We need to see the fleet shots now!
No dear, they are not toys, they are models

Thank you, I’m glad you’ve enjoyed the presentations. I learn a lot myself when putting the individual history’s together and the models start to take on a character all of their own.

I really appreciate Warlord for producing a set of affordable larger scale models that will allow some interesting looking games for the historical player.

I hope also that the collection will encourage others to have a go at putting these kits together and getting to grips with the intricacies and the tutorials are on the blog to help and I am happy to answer queries.

With regard to fleet shots, please be patient as the collection is close to culminating and I thought it might be fun to put up some big pics up when its done to get the full impression of these models together in numbers.

Hi
Thank you, it's great when others enjoy the project and hopefully the result with lots of models gracing the table.

Cheers
