Where to buy By Fire and Sword miniatures in the UK
« on: November 30, 2020, 11:12:34 AM »
Just looking at getting into the game and wondered where people in the UK are getting their miniatures from.

Just ordered the Rulebooks from Wargamer as they had them on at half price.

Are there many people playing this in the UK?

I know Wayland games sell the range but stocks seem low. Rather mysteriously some figure packs are annotated as “awaiting reprint” . Quite what this means for metal figures I have no idea!

It does seem odd. Possibly a bit of confusion between the book and the mini's on the part of Wayland Games? Or maybe just a 'stock' statement via their website?

Atheling. When out of stock I have normally see “Out of Stock; Re-Stock Expected Soon”. “Soon” could prove to be quite an interesting concept earlier this year.

The only other option would be for 3D printing then......

Manicminer Though I still expect that they are awaiting a restock of metals, I would be tempted to give them a bell and see if they are planning to get a restock and ask if they are going to be in metal or 3D prints(?)

 Thanks for the replys.

It makes me wonder if Wayland are selling off the remaining stock and not getting them in again.

Just been watching some videos on Youtube about the game.Looks to be quite good and totally different to Fantasy and Sci-Fi that i normally collect.

Entoyment in Poole have it. Lots in stock on the website. (Don't worry, they do mail order). They do make some lovely stuff (and some obscurities too e.g. caltrops). As an aside have they given any more updates of their ECW version?

I wonder if Br---t will impact on future stocks/stockists? I can only see it getting dearer, and some of the sets are already a bit too expensive (terrain especially). Unless a trade deal is sorted out it might be prudent to wait until the new year to see what happens or find complimentary UK made figures. Steel Fist on their Kickstarter page show BF&S figures in the comparative size picture.
www.keepyourpowderdry.co.uk gaming the British Civil Wars in 15mm, and home of the ECW travelogue - dreadful painting, mediocre prose

There are a few of us play in Scarborough (or will be after the plague restrictions lift).

There is a stockist in Daventry that I've bought from in the past:

Gary, Glynis, and Alasdair (there are three of us, but we are too mean to have more than one login)

Also, you can always proxy in other 15mm figures for some forces if you're not using them for official competition games.
Museum Miniatures have some good one-piece-castings of assorted horse archers (Hun, Mongol, Turk) that look fine as Tartars, they also have some generic cuirassier & ECW cavalry figures that can proxy in for HRI, Danes, or Swedes, plus Dave usually runs a January sale with 25% off.... January is a good time to pick up generic baggage wagons etc.
I also proxied in some Essex 15mm Cossack figures (picked up from Colonel Bill) and a few figures from Alternative Armies.

Just got the Players handbook rules,Taskforce and Deluge books Yesterday.

At least now i have a better understanding how to create forces.

Radar there are pictures of the ECW figures online.I think they were shown at Salute or some other show.

Thanks for the tip on the sales Fastolfrus. Also the other miniatures ranges that can be used too.

The Brexit problem could mean higher prices for lots of things including miniatures. Will just have to wait and see.

Got three Skirmish sets now and some terrain.

Today's news on that front is very encouraging. Fingers crossed!

BFaS has always appealed to me. I find the era fascinating and the official miniatures look GREAT. I certainly hope that getting them doesn't become too difficult.

Thanks manic_miner; I've got more than enough ECW figures (3.5k 15mm at the last reckoning), surely it wouldn't hurt to just look  ;)

Either my googlefu is weak or are the pictures on Faceberk? Any chance of a link please and thank you, in anticipation.
