Gaming the collapse using FiveCore
« on: December 08, 2020, 09:04:17 AM »
As I always love looking at what others are doing, I figure it's only right to contribute some gaming stuff here.

As the whole COVID situation killed my regular Bolt Action group, I started some solo gaming to get my fix and to use some of the miniatures usually collecting dust.

As those Eureka NBC-Soviets were just collecting dust, I figured some Zombie-collapse gaming is in order. Rules wise I use Nordic Weasel Games FiveCore (great game and rather cheap on wargame vault).

The first game was without Zombies, as we're in the very beginning - just some rumors and public disturbances so far.

Nice looking game.  It also seems like you have come across a system that works very well for you for solo gaming.

Looking forward to the next installment.

Mission 2 is up: This time the squad moved out in force to break a nest of unrest after another squad had been ambushed. Heavy fighting was had and the first contact with the infected took place.

The luckless predecessors

An enemy sniper

Zom... Wounded citizens in dire need of help. Very hungry, too.

Enjoyed the read.  I love the narrative approach and blog. I'm looking forward to the next edition/mission.

Also very impressed with your roads.  Are they self created? Very nice.

Thanks for the kind words! The roads are just 2 layers of pvc hardfoam boards sandwiched together with the actual road cut out. That way I created boards with one empty side and one side with some kind of road on it.
Later I added the cobblestone walkways as I found the roads too wide. They are just hardfoam board with wallpaper glued to it.

Managed to get another game in. This one was a walk in the park: just stand at the checkpoint and tell people wanting to leave to go back home.

Almost everybody died.
