Pulp Muscle Man/ex-Circus Strong Man figure?
« on: March 25, 2007, 11:13:34 AM »
One of the characters in my weekly Pulp Hero game is former circus strong man, and I need a figure for him.

I know about "Otto" from Bob Murch's Pulp Figures PHP9 Freakish Flunkies pack but Otto looks a bit stupid (Mike the Muscle isn't) and he isn't wearing anything (I'd like the figure to be wearing a least a shirt or something).

So I'm looking for recommendations for figures that might suit. They need to be:
    * big and musclely
    * normal intelligence looks - no dumb or simple sidekicks please
    * clothed
    * ideally can be purchased separately, but if it comes in a pack "oh well"
    * doesn't have to come from a pulp range but must look pulp

Look forward to your suggestions. Thanks in advance.

There's a massive Heroclick of a very bulky muscle-man in an old fashioned weightlifter's costume - I have no idea what his name might be.

And there's a West Wind circus strongman in their Vampire Wars line. he looks impressed with himself, but not stupid.

Yes, that's the one.

I painted him for a customer last month. Cartoony, but quite a lot of fun - H

I second the circus strong man suggestion from Westwind. :)
Alternatively have you considered The Doc Savage figure from Bob Murch or one of his sidekicks from the same pack?

Don't how I missed that one. Its probably spot on, and the best suggestion so far. Pity its in the Doc Savage pack, because the Doc and Renner are the only good figures - the rest look like clowns. I'll have to ask the player which he prefers.

Have you considered Mr. Tonka from Black Hat Miniatures? I picked him out as my generic brawler/enforcer.

He is from their superhero range so his hands are as big as pot roasts but other than that I think he is pretty cool.

Another thing you could do is decapitate that Hasslefree Narg the Torturer figure and glue on a different head.

He's on the list too now. Seeing the player tonight. I'll let everyone know what he chose.

He's the guy I'm making a far-eastern Prize-fighter-extended-hand of some nefarious villain out of for my .45A games :-)) Somehow I also chose to make his trousers green....

Mike the Muscle's player chose this figure as the most appropriate:

The figure is The Siberian, a brick figure from West Wind's Superfigs range.

Thanks for all the suggestions folks.
