Victorian Sci-Fi at Horisont (Denmark)
« on: September 18, 2009, 04:17:03 PM »
Hallo, in my other thread (Indian mine workers) I promised to show some pictures, I chose to make a new thread because this will probably include some more stuff than just miners.

This is my mechanics professer and his steam robots and automatons, the newest stuff I painted which I will bring to Horisont, besides that i have painted up some steam tanks, tractor, cavalry, infantry and such, I can post some pictures of that too later.

Hard labor automatons for Unobtanium mineing (Design 28)

Dr. some name I need to find out and his Clockwork Cat (Steve Jackson Games)

Cataphract, Destroyer and Steamhorse (Steve Jackson Games, Parroom Station, Mage Knight)

Does anyone know where to find a figure which will fit on the steam horse? it is quite wide compared to the riders I have come by... so if I don't find a rider I will just let it roam on it's own..

Family photo.

Lovely, absolutely lovely. Those Design28 bots look a bit plain in the metal but they work great with some paint.

Yes, there are not much to the Design 28 robots, but I think they fit in good with VSF and when they mix in with Indian workers and redcoats it will be a nice mix of all sorts of colours.

Maybe I should take a photo from the back too, some of them has gastanks og equipment attached to them.

Well, looking through my pics on the Danish forum I will post some of the better here too:

Empress Miniatures

More Empress

Old Glory

Mr. Brunell - Inventer and and scientist in the field of Unobtanium and Electricity (Ramshackle Games)

I have more stuff too, but the pictures are not so good, so I will probably post more when I have new photos or when we test the scenario and take some action shots.

Lovely work Jonas!

I've gone for the same colour scheme with my Design 28 robots.

That's looking great Jonas... keep up the good work!

Can't wait to see what the lot of you have come up with - especially taking the test-game in mind :D

Good stuff  :D

How about painting BIG numbers on the Design 28 robots, 1 2 3 4 etc. It might help to break the sameyness of them.

Yeah, that could look good, but I would have to find some waterslide transfers, because I am not very good at freehand.

I like the sameyness of them. They are robots after all. I think numbers might spoil them. If you must number them then Roman numerals (like on an antique clock) is the way to go. Big flashy Arabic numerals will look too space age.

Nice work, must get some of those bots myself. As far as the riders for the mechanified horse, I have the same problem . I will probably try Redoubt as I have a rulebook which shows them in a photograph with Redoubt British riders on them, its either GASLIGHT or Valour , Steel and Flesh.

Thanks, I might try redoubt then... or else we will just use it for pulling the minecarts, but I guess we have to make huge mine shafts then  ;D
