Just to let you know that the project is not dead I will post a few WIP pictures of the board and "blueprints":

What is going to become the actual Unobtanium mine.

The secret Prussian map of the area.

Intelligence has reported that it is an Unobtanium mine.

There is not much update on the model front, most models are recieved and on the line to be painted, but a trip to Holland will slow me down a bit in the painting process, but I think Thorbjørn will have more Germans ready when I get back and probably progress on the mine.

I have worked on assembling models and basic paintwork, so next week when I get home I believe the output of finished models will increase.

Actual playtesting will hopefully be at the end of the month, so we are still counting on this project to be finished in time before Horisont.

 :)

Very nice and interesting!

The yellow cavalrymen from OG are lovely, too!, which pack they come from?

Well, this progress happened while I was vecating in Holland, so when noone else will comment I will do so.

I think the mine is beginning to look brilliant and I can't wait to put models on it (and in it).

To update some I can tell that we are making the first playtesting saturday the 24th, while it probably will feature some still unpainted models at that point I hope we will be able to take some photos of the happening and post here.

The game system has been named "Kongeriger og Kolonier", by our rules guy, which is danish and can be translated to "Kingdoms and Colonies".

It is certainly coming together very well and should look fantastic when completed. There is plenty of gaming potential here and one thing that flashed into my mind was "Doctor Who".

You know, the good old days when alien planets [eg Skaro in "Gnesis of the Daleks"] were always filmed in old gravel pits. This isn't meant to be negative - just the opposite in fact, as I have been looking for a way of recreating classic Who scenarios in just such a setting and this is perfect. Great for post-apocapyptic survivor or zombie games too  :D

I can't wait to see it finished  ;D

He he he, yeah, lot of old tv was filmed in gravel pits, so lot of great stuff can be done with this scenery, I sure hope it will find the use for future projects too.. I was thinking pulp scenarios like Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom kind of children enslavery and such stuff...

Anyway, work is progressing and I think I will have new photos of finished models soon and still hang on for the post saturday update of 1st playtest  ;D

Well I forgot, I already have some new pics:

I painted up a second Destroyer class steam robot

and some WIP, just needs basing:

Gorilla Highlanders and Unobtanium Enhanced Gorilla with Steamfists.

These needs basing and a better photo  ;) I will take some tommorrow, the bases has been made and are drying before they get a coat of paint.

Hallo, just wanted to do a short update here...

After we playtested a couple of times we found out that our rules did not work in the direction we wanted and the revised rules did not really work either...

So we bought a copy of Gaslight and Battles by Gaslight... We playtested the system today with 45 models pr side and 2 steam vehicles pr side, it seemed to work really good and so we decided this is the direction we are going...

There is a short time 'till we have to showcase this, so the last couple of weeks will be hard with painting up the last models, painting the scenery and a few final playtesting of the scenario.

I have a few photos of our playtest from today, I will try and post them tommorrow, it is nothing fancy though...

The pictures for our Gaslight playtest.

The Prussian and English army clash in an abandoned monestary...

The Prussians advance...

And victory goes to the Prussians, even though the Englishmen had the strongest army (on paper).

The rules worked well on this scale of battle and next time we will try it out on the actual scenario and with the full forces, at that point everything should be painted and the scenery should be finished, after all there is a short time til Horisont..

 ;D

Some flying monkeys WIP, they need bases and the final touch ups... but I am quite satisfied with how they ended up, at first I had a hard time to get the flesh colour to work well with the fur.

I'm struggling to get the last of this done!! Our drama executive just changed the script and that has caused me to work overtime already!

That looks Brilliant!  I love the "thermos" tanks in the background. Are they scratchbuilt?

Can't wait for pictures of the display game.

Cheers
Fuzzy.
Crikey, sir. I'm looking forward to today. Up diddly up, down diddly
down, whoops, poop, twiddly dee - decent scrap with the fiendish Red
Baron - bit of a jolly old crash landing behind enemy lines - capture,
torture, escape, and then back home in time for tea and medals.
