I am gearing up for a campaign I am running for D&D soon. Here are a few figures that I put together for it:

Aradia, Paladin of... well, Aradia :)

A couple of vargouilles made from GW zombie heads and plasticard wings.

Awesome work!

Do you use miniatures for all your RPG games? I ask because I seem to hear both sides with some RPG players refusing to touch a miniature and others that enjoy the visual appeal of having them.

Hey all,

Thanks for the positive feedback on the figs, greatly appreciated!

I do use miniatures for all of my RPG games. I am a miniature gamer first and foremost to be honest, so I almost need to have some miniature project to play miniature games...

I have also met a single person that absolutely refuses to play RPGs with miniatures. That guy is crazy though ;) Some RPGers just don't use them because they feel no need. But most, and especially D&D 3.5 players, use them all the time; D&D 3.5 almost makes them a requirement (no doubt to push Wizard's line of pre-painted D&D figs). But yeah, I like to use them for combat, as I am not the most skilled DM out there and it helps me keep things under control!

As to the question of what colours I used for the red, it was Iron Wind Metals Red-Brown (that colour is fantastic!), highlighted up to Iron Wind Metals red, and then a final highlight of 1 parts white to four part red.

Thanks again for the feedback :)

Tell us about the vargouilles!

I've never heard of them before - are they from mythology? Did you just say 'these zombie heads shold be red, and have wings?'
I do all my own stunts

Hey,

No, vargouille's are not my creation at all...  They are a monster outlined in the standard D&D 3.0 and 3.5 monster manual. They are an undead that was spawned when a vargouille kissed a living person...  Once the kiss is administered, it is only a matter of time before the victim's head turns into a vargouille and detaches from its body.

I like them because they fly, which is key in my D&D world where there is a lot of air, and because they are a lot like 'Night of the Living Dead' zombies because they can reproduce in the same way (which zombies cannot do in D&D).
