Yarp. I don't know what the figures are that Grimm has, so this might be totally irrelevant. Still, hard to believe any 1950s force would be complete without an Elvis.  ;)

Very true lol Elvis should be included. They are effectively Combat troops in 2 piece uniform and hihg leg boots with helmets and light order Webbing(belt kit) ...they are veyr nicely sculpted and would look very good as US Army form late war through Korea.

I have been looking through my library and have found some colour pictures of Americans in Korea wearing green, in another book it says they swapped from browns to greens as it gave better camoflage, whether that is true I don't know.

As Op5 says though any thing would go given the scenario.

Shall look forward to your pics as always, still trying to persuade the wife that Hamburg in February will not be that cold :)

What are the mini's like? Are they in uniform or mix and match?  Will they look all right with Brigades Alien Invasion figures?

First a disclaimer. I have not seen US Army uniforms from the 50's up close.  I have seen those from 1960's and 70's.  For those uniforms, my observation is that they tended to fade toward a more gray-green color.  To my eyes, the lighter shade you've used looks too yellowish.

Having said that, it's still perfectly obvious to me those are American GI's.

Agreed. I've got a 50's era US bayonet knocking about in my tool box and it has a black plastic handle.

They look pretty damn good to me and instantly recogniseable as GI's. :)

I think everyone will recognize these as GIs. I intend to get that set and I will use more green, provided I can find it. The faded trousers look a little off and the whole set has a WW2 look to it. The ammo/equipment belts (called web gear) have the exact right left-over-from-WW2 faded color I used to see in war surplus stores. Some of that WW2 gear was still in supply dumps in Europe during the Viet-Nam era.

These might be more apt... uhuh...  ;)

Incidentally, the M14 rifle and M60 MG began to be introduced from 1957, are we likely to see any figures with them?

The Meteors... oh man I saw them live in 85!!!!
