I like this giant diorama… but I get tired of the 40k universe because of it’s lack of a minimum of logic…  ;D
A CANADIAN local hobby store with a small selection of historical wargames miniatures (mainly from Warlords). They also have a great selection of paint and hobby accessories from Vallejo, Army painter, AK Interactive, Green Stuff World and more.; https://www.kingdomtitans.ca/us/

Whatever you think of GW and their way of doing business, you have to admit they have developed some superb modelling and painting skills.

I'm not that overwhelmed

certainly much work ans skill has been out into it, but it is clearly obvious that the true quality is placing the products together and displaying them artfully.

As such it is very good, but against any other scenery displaying the same quantity and size it would stink, cause You only see GW products and nothing else

If you are defending (what appears to be some sort of castle) why do you go outside the walls ?
It doesn't make sense.

Ask the Japanese in WWII. Constantly left their fortifications in favour of being gunned down like idiots in a suicidal charge. It's a matter of culture. Tennōheika banzai! rather appropriately in this case means "May the Emperor reign for Ten Thousand Years!"

Personally I rather like this diorama.

And then they go and spoil it all by putting their armoured plated super-astronauts on it. Pity about that bit.

I think it would have been better with Imperial Guard instead for obvious reasons.
Everything is better with lizardmen.

It's a very fine and impressive diorama, GW or not, and I always liked their massive Games Day showpieces. And again, Dave Andrews and buddies are a bunch of very innovative modellers, using techniques and products from all sources. Dave invented those explosions for his WW1 boards, and the use of clear and white silicone to simulate that waterfall is just brilliant!
