Ghosts of Victorian Mars
« on: October 31, 2009, 07:03:15 PM »
There are probably a few threads I could have put this in, but I felt I should give it its own thread so it didn't encroach on others and can be replied to/ignored as people see fit.
 :)

I can't help but think perhaps a VSF outbreak of the "ghosts of mars" possession situation would be rather good for creating a very feral opponent for trained troops to take on.

Not only that but it could probably be imported into any historical, alternate historical, fantasy or scifi setting if you needed some reason for a mass of feral mostly melee orientated enemies.

I've just got an image in my head of the (rather over used I know) Battle of Rorke's Drift taking place on a terraformed mars with the possessed people taking the role of the Zulus.

That's a very cool idea, Viper.  :)  Would you go for minis that looked like the Marylin Manson clones of the movie, or generic zombies, or just ordinary civillians?

Hmm, it's a bit of a tough one I could probably see using all 3 really to get a mob feel going. Standard zombies possibly not so much, but sort of emaciated/sickly looking ones that didn't have leathal levels of missing chunks would probably be okay.

Varied levels of tribal scaring, piercing, and warpaint, could be painted or sculpted/converted, along with cobbled together armour and weapons, onto any human model to make them part of the mob. Well depending on what scale you were using, as tempting as it is to try and convert 6mm models to have tribal scars.

would also work with "necromunda" style urban warriors, not too heavily armed, or MG on the "british" side
