just discovered that on Frothers Forums:
http://www.frothersunite.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=10424
looks very promising, would love to get more of that sort of buildings for my future Gothic Horror village. Does anyone know any manufacturers making stuff like this?

Pardulon is already on my list :)

How about Stronghold Terrain scenery? Well detailed sculpts, high quality casting (some kind of dentists plaster in stead of resin), and a range that's suitable for fantasy and different historical periods.

Here's their website:  http://www.stronghold-terrain.de/. (They're in Germany, BTW...)

I've collected quite a few of their pieces, and I like them a lot. Recommended stuff.

And http://www.forgeworld.co.uk ofcourse. Expensive but really nice models. I've painted up 2 buildings, some walls, a well and a bloomery so far and they are great. Just 1 stable and then the inn to go now  :)

Edit: Oops, should have checked the link first. Ebob already mentioned Forgeworld in that thread.

I'm using a mixture of Fantascene and Conflix- works well and no painting required (I hate painting buildings)!

Conflix? maybe a link?

Forgeworld Inn is a fanatstic piece, unfortunately too expensive

Hi Prof

Take a look here

http://www.chronofus.net/wargames/conflix/

And trust me they look much better 'in the flesh'

PS the mausoleum is also pretty cool

Stronghold is, looking at the quality of ths sculpting, very much on par with the Forgeworld material, but then -slightly- cheaper.

Personally I think the Conflix-terrain is way more crudely made, with less detail. The bigger scale scenery is also a tiny bit smaller (more 20-25 then 28mm, if that's makes sense...). On the other hand, Conflix pieces come (pre-)painted, while FW and SH material is nude resin. Some people like this, some don't.

The material by the companies mentioned above I've seen in the flesh (resin/plaster/...)

Pardulon looks cool as well, but I only saw it at the internet so I wait with forming my opinion until I see it 'live'.

BTW, just voicing my personal opinion and experience here.
YMMV  :)

Oops, seems I forgot to mention Ziterdes.

http://www.ziterdes.de/

They make very cool pieces, including (ruined) buildings. They use some kind of plastic foam, which means all their material is very light and quite
easy to convert.

Negative points: airbubbles in the foam can (more realistically; will) ruin textures and surfaces, and might need touching up. It's prepainted but that's only a drybrush (that, admittedly, can easily be painted over with little effort). These pieces come flocked with static grass as well, but this can be scraped away after making the flocked pieces wet with water. Sadly, some of these pieces come at a rather steep price.

I like to think of Ziterdes as foundations for scenery; use these pieces to add your own ideas and be creative. And again, YMMV.

(Edit: Changed to more appropriate picture)

I would have gotten the Forgeworld Coaching Inn long ago except for the fact that isn't detailed inside - just solid blank walls and floors.  There aren't even any doorways between interior rooms.  Such a shame, because the outside is gorgeous.

The Conflix houses maybe need to be re-painted but look allright. And AFAIK they're the cheapest ready made houses you can buy.

I think Antenociti's house looks awesome!

I'd like to build such things myself but I still don't exactly know how.  :(
