The Egyptian army is small in comparison to it's European counterparts.  It is, however, highly trained and motivated, and equipped with the latest in modern weapons (thanks in large part to its' genial relations with Prussia).  The army itself is divided broadly into two groups; Royal and Regular.

Royal troops have two basic responsibilities.  The first, and most important, is to serve as the personal bodyguard of the Sun God Ra.  It's secondary role is to man and operate highly sophisticated weapons of war.

Regular troops responsibilities are similar to those of any standing army.  They include garrison duties during peace and are the realm's standing army in times of war.

While the Egyptian army has adopted a traditional white uniform there are significant differences between Royal and Regular troops.

The signature identification of Royal troops is its' helmet, which like the Sun God, is hawk like in form and referred to as the "Horus Helmet."  The helmet differs from that of Ra by the lack of the Sun God emblem on its' crest, which, of course, is reserved solely for use by the Pharaoh.   The general uniform is white with red distinctions on the tunic and turquoise leggings.  Equipment is black.   For members of the Royal Household, turquoise trousers and black boots are worn in lieu of the white trousers and leggings worn by Royal Regiments for easy recognition.

Regular troops, which serve as the vast majority of the Egyptian army, wear the "Anubis Helmet" which takes the form of a jackal, in homage to the God of Death.  The general uniform is white with turquoise distinctions and leggings.  Personal equipment is black, while armaments of war, such as artillery, are white.

It should be noted that the highly ornate helmets worn by the Egyptian army not only serve to aid in recognition of the troops role in that army, but also are believed to be armored.  While it is still difficult to differentiate fact from fiction in this mysterious land, it is rumored that once placed on the user's head, the helmet becomes part of the body and is never removed...

So after many journeys into the Egyptian sands...  o_o

I present the Royal Engineer and Master of Artillery:

It is a Foundry figure with a Shadowforge Horus Helmet head.

More interestingly...

Reports having been coming in that the Egyptians are about to embark on the building of a large vessel capable of neutralizing the American Aeroneff USS Blunderbuss.  Details remain sketchy at this time but sources close to the Royal Court indicate that raw materials are en route from Prussia and an announcement is expected within the next week.

In other news, the Egyptian Royal Household Cavalry is now completing training.

Thanks GM!

I think the cavalry are coming out quite nicely.  They will give a bit better impression of the force I am making.

A ship will be awsome

A landship to be more precise.

And it's going to be even bigger than gamer Mac's Zeppelin  :o

Well... maybe a tad smaller...  ;)

Thanks mates!

Really nice idea for an army mr. Rivers.

Please call me Ray.  I'm a big fan of yours.  ;)

Good to see this project is still on the boil.

It's a part of a much larger project which one day will result in "The Battle of New New York" on Venus.  I'm getting there, but us older folks need a bit more time...  lol

Great Stuff.  Where did you get the Big buff colored temple in the first Battle Report?

Been away for good while - injured in a car crash and just getting back into reading some of old posts.

I got in a sale about 6 or 7 years ago - it was a kid's playset full of little plastic figures.  The US version is here

http://www.amazon.com/Great-Adventure-Lost-Kingdom-Playset/dp/B000E84ZOU

I got the UK version which has more walls and figures.

Good to hear you are recuperating.  Sounds like a grand smashup...  :o

Toys, BTW, are wasted on kids.
