What were the modifications you made for the skirmish game?

*We nixed initiative order and made it straight IGOUGO.

*Instead of using the standard critical damage system, we said that when a model looses all of its wounds, its out of action.

*we counted all hits as body hits except in the case of critical hits(see below). armour counts against all hits.

*If a model rolls 1/10th of what it needs on an attack roll, it has scored a critical hit. if the attack does any damage, determine the hit location, roll one d10 and consult the appropriate critical table.

Its not much of a change, but it really speeds up the game.

I quite enjoyed the varied selection of figs you've utilized. Even though my group here doesn't play 40k any more I still really enjoy the fluff aspect of the game and am quite fascinated with the opportunities for adventure style games to be had within that framework. Its great to see people like yourself doing this (I can't seem to get the lads here interested in the idea sadly...)! It affirms that you can play 40k without being a GW marketting slave.

If you haven't already check out these two blogs:

I find them quite inspirational!!  ;)

What did you do with the weapon ranges and move rates? My first thought would have been to use centimetres just so it would all fit on the board. Looks like a fun game, I love Dark Heresy.
