I could make a deck mount for the electric cannon.
If you don't succeed at first use a bigger hammer!

I could make a deck mount for the electric cannon.

That would be a very useful stand-alone product for use with other purchased or scratch-built weapons too. Another one for the wish-list  ;D

During a respite from my 6mm FPW project I have just I have just painted the electric cannons and been pinning the Aeronauf ready for construction. As soon as they appear in the online shop my little fingers will tap tap away!

By pure coincidence, I spent this pinning and assembling my 'nef that arrived today. Now I need to think about weapons for it  ;)

a generic deck mount could be useful...

and a 37 mm Hotchkiss revolving cannon - noone makes them any more...

It is a nice machine! It does mean that I will also have to buy some more Naval Landing Crew (my last lot are painted as Dragoons delivered by electric powered cabs) that can be dropped off behind enemy lines. At Reveille John mentioned a deck mounted Nordenfelt type gun and crew, I think that they will do! The electric cannons are nice, hopefully he will produce a range of crew for all the different countries who may use it.

Looking at the model now that it is assembled, I think there is only really space for one gun (a light gun or a MG) on the foredeck. Adding anything else (e.g. a MG on either side) would make the deck too cluttered. It would also be possible to ring mount a MG on the roof, but it may make the model look too unbalanced and 'top heavy'.

However, deck-mounted electric guns would be great for larger vessels or for ground installations/vehicles.

The electric gun looks great and the crew too, but I would suggest to let the gun be available to buy on its own too, that would allow for other fractions to use it or if you already have a gun and crew, to shift between alternate guns...

I probably need one no matter what anyway  ;D

Perhaps with extra batteries, engineering toolbox etc.

Yes, there is a Nordenfelt to go with the crew I just have to finish the gun mounting.

Nice! Thank you!

In the same vein, I'd suggest the crew be available separately, as I can see wanting them to crew historical weaponry...

I bought a couple of the electric guns at Reveille, so hopefully John will produce some other nationals crew members and continue to sell the guns on their own so one can purchase/make crews as suits

A relatively quick and easy head swap and possibly a little filing or greenstuff work would work to represent most nations' artillery, especially US and French. Not 100% accurate maybe, but easily justifiable in a VSF world.

I think any existing crew will do, just exchange cannon ball/ shell for a battery!
