Well, I've spent the afternoon cleaning up, prepping and basing...

...Cannibals and Ngoni!

All to the accompaniment of African Nations Cup football on the telly, good African atmosphere for working on these fellas. Seeing how Colonial Adventures has turned into very much a Congolese show lately I would root for DR Congo - but they ain't in it this year, didn't qualify. Since I am also doing my Ngoni (to be precise - Angoni) that leaves Zambia and Malawi for me to cheer on. Come on, little Malawi! Beat Mali and you're through.

(Russell Osman is currently commentating on Egypt vs. Mozambique. He was in Escape to Victory! - the best film about football ever made.)

First four jungle cannibal allies:

Four more are on the painting table, just finish them and then we're done.

Nicely painted group, Plynkes.

I especially like the guy at the right; he looks like he's fascinated by a build-in laptop inside his shield showing the current weather forecast ...  lol

Another great looking group of heathens but with a different I-dare-you-to-laugh-hairdo.

Nice painting, again.

Those hairstyles would fit right in at a 70's  pool hall.

Yep.

No need to ask:  "Do you think they are freindly?" right?

I didn't notice it (your mistake).  I was just highlighting your statement, as I agreed with it entirely.   ;)

Nice expressions on that lot of bad actors!

Thanks, guys. I was feeling a little discouraged tonight - painting Ngoni and couldn't get "in the zone" (I'm a terrible pathological perfectionist and am never fucking happy with my work at the best of times). Kind comments really helped, and I went back to them and I think I've turned it around - they'll do. Cheers.

Mortimer, I didn't notice your mistake when you typed it, or when Smokey inadvertently repeated it either. Relax, your English is just fine. No problems at all.  :)

I don't like the fellow one in from the right. Possibly the only Copplestone sculpt I've ever fallen out with. Just doesn't look human to me. Like a cartoon negro from the old days, or the Grinch or something. It's hard to love a face like that! Really struggled with that sod, and he still looks like some kind of ape. Never mind, eh? He can stand at the back where nobody will notice him.

Well, for some reason, the photo I see has only the two guys on the left (it cuts in half, and I get blank screen for the figures after that.  wEIRD, HUH?)

Great job, Plynkes.  Seriously, your painting is at the top notch of the hobby.

That's weird. What's your screen resolution set at? Tend to forget not everybody is on snazzy new monitors that show the bigger pics on the whole screen rather than chopping them in half. But even so, you ought to be able to use the scroll bar to see it all.

Anway, it's in the gallery, maybe you'll have better luck viewing it there:

That's better! (I do have a wide screen moniter, it shows the whole picture, but it is blank white for the right half    :?)

LOL!  That guy on the right looks like he is not 100% "all in".  Seems he has some doubts about spears vs rifles, and the ability of his Chrysler car door sheild's ability to stop a Martini .45 round. .  I think it fits in PERFECTLY!

Lot's of character.

 :)

I think that chap would be perfectly happy to be in the rear, according to his expression.

Well, I think they are all excellent!

Especially like the way you painted up the shields and spears!
