The Train is based on the Redoubt Civil War/Wild West trainhttp://www.redoubtenterprises.com/shop/?page=shop/browse&category_id=78038019d56796c710b005244d64b824

The Rail gun is a combination of the short Flat Car by Redoubt and a Naval gun made by the former London War Room , a company that I truly miss. The project thus far has taken over two years and I still have to finish the inside of the caboose, about 50 passangers and a bagage car I'll have to scratch build.

This is so great.   What a dirty little town!

Some great inspiration for sure.  Looking at "The Lickity Split"  the song New Virginia Creeper by Old Crow Medicine Show keep running through my head.

Chug-along, chug-along, like the old Virginia Creeper,
Down among the Mountain Laurel, I'm a gonna meetcha,
Baby stoke my fire,
So we can make it home tonight!

A come along, come along, come a right to tha station,
Slide me up yo ticket baby, climb up on my engine,
I'll ride you in my sleeper on the New Virginia Creeper Tonight!

I'm a rollin' down the mountain can't you hear my wheels a chuggin',
All the women stand around a pushin and a shovin'
But you can have my lovin',
Come on and watch my big wheels ride!

I got smoke from my chimney belchin' blacker than coal,
What would you think about me if I bared my soul,
I'll ride you in my sleeper on the New Virginia Creeper Tonight!

And-if-you're,
Quite in a hurry,
Now don'tcha worry,
We won't-ride-slow,
You've got my,
Full-on attention,
Upon my engine,
We'll let, the whistle blow!

Chug-along, chug-along, chuggin' right to your door,
And if you'd like to ride I'd like to ride you some more,
I'll ride you in my sleeper on the New Virginia Creeper Tonight!

And-if-you,
Take up the notion,
For locomotion,
I'll make-a-stop,
And slide right,
Into your station,
But pay attention,
That rail gets hot!

Chug-along, chug-along, chuggin' right to your door,
And if you'd like to ride I'd like to ride you some more,
I'll ride you in my sleeper on the New Virginia Creeper Tonight!

Thanks for sharing!

Very nice!

lol  Some great 'plays on words' in your narrative.  So much innuendo that you must be either British (or is it just an English thing?!) or a fan of Benny Hill!
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2024 = 32
(2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Sorry S.I. not a subject of Her Majesty.
I'm just a poor ole country boy on the edge of what was formally the American Prairie. The whole town started with a play on words, not sure if you have ever heard the joke that ends with the punch line: " I said POSSE, POSSE!!!!" but it's easy to google if you haven't. Over a couple of beers one night a freind and I started making up lude buisness names based on inuendo and puns. Beaverlick's essance is heavily influenced by great writers of prosse and film as Mel Brooks, the late Douglas Adams and America's last remaining sourse of news "The Onion". As the list grew out of control with passing weeks and contributions from some other gamers we knew, I decided to start building some terrain. The intial thing that bothered me with the project was that all the room that buildings took up was wasted with empty space. The final solution was to combine some of the decore of Doll house construction with model rail roading detail and a bit of scratch building to fill in the gaps. The writing is a colabrated effort on the part of myself and Mike Williams a freind I introduced to gaming about 20 years ago for which he has never forgiven me.

Thanks for taking a look, more to come.......

Furniture:
FrontLine Miniatures (mostly)
Old Glory 25's (various)
Monday Night Productions (chairs)
Knuckle Duster, Eureka, and Hovel (Odds and ends)
some things are scratch built from Balsa, plastic bits and metal.
