The Lead Painters' League - Season Four
« on: January 24, 2010, 01:21:05 AM »
It's happening again :) LPL Season Four will begin on February 22.

The rules has been revised and completed with several clarifications. Maybe the most important change is the 'votes points' rule, I've decided to increase the old limit of five to fifteen. Please read the rules - http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=15868.0. The rules topic is locked to hold it clear, if you have any questions, feel free to ask anything in this topic.

The bonus themes topic for the Season Four - http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=15869.0

Also I've cleaned up the LPL board. All the old topics, stickies etc. have been removed to the new child board 'LPL Archiv". So the main board will contain only the LPL4 related themes and revised rules.

This time I will manage the League again. Captain Blood is still the mod of the LPL boards and will manage it and the rounds where I'm not available.

I wish all the participants of Season Four good luck and lot of fun!

I’m really glad to see the return of the LPL :D
… that being said, I fear I will not score high on the bonus front… :?

I've been both looking forward to this and dreading it.  The latter because I've not painted a thing since the last LPL.  Instead of doing work tonight, perhaps I'd better dust off the paints.   :)

A quick question about themed groups -

There was a bit of a question last season about themed groups that represented competing forces within the group (cops vs. robbers, vampire vs. vampire hunters, etc.). If groups represent natural antagonists from the same period, is this allowed, or should a 5-person group only represent a homogenous group?

Good point. Only homogenous group. It's supposed to be a team. I'll add it to the rules.

Aye. The question has popped up a few times.

I think you could add something about painting times and old works. There have been recurring questions along the lines of "Do we have to paint all the new stuff during the league?" Even though the "previously unpublished" part is fairly clear, there could be a clear "yes, you can start already" or something in the rules. People have been a bit confused about whether it's (morally) justified to enter previously painted stuff.

Actually I never didn't want to set any limits on it. But I will add some explanation to the rules to avoid further questions.

I'm in again, it was a good way to plow through the old lead pile and motivate me to paint some squads.

I didn't think there would be a new season until the summer at least. Aaaaaagh. Totally not ready!  :)

Edit: I'm still up for it though. Very excited.

Great news, Alex! Those marvelous Monday mornings are to return ...  ;D

I think I won't have the time for this season, so I will just enjoy all the creativity, beautiful painting and thrill as a voter.

Probable.  8)

Though it won`t be with any high hopes seeing the pieces of art I see passing on these boards, I think i`ll give it a shot because

1. I never gave it a shot and
2. I actually might be motivated that way to paint up some of the more obscure things I have lying around

Great news Alex.
Not sure if I am going to have the time I need to compete well (just started a new job) but I will try anyway.
