Another "not-Conan", in the middle:

Named "Drac Mac Syro", from the Confrontation Celts range.

This Drac Mac Syro was sculpted according to a cover of a conan comic book, drawing by Paolo Parente (who works for Rackham) :

Very nice Conan model, lean and mean compared to some of the super Arnie sized ones, nicely painted too.

That Conan cover got bought by Rackham too: its an illustration in their Rag'Norak (1st edition) Universe book. Very nice too.

Great mini too- I've had him undercoated for years, waiting to get up the courage to paint him.

I think  this is a very bad cover too (Im a Barry W. Smith fan, and really dont like this drawing style ), but I think Avatars of War create a good mini based in this cover too.
Felix Paniagua is a really great sculptor

How true! I think we can forgive him, though, as he has done such a marvellous job with his mini.

Imagine what he could do working from one of the better sources!  :)

Cheers,
Ian

All I can say is WOW, that old, old Citadel Conan was a trade deal, I made a hill in exchange for a professional-grade paint job on a mini I painted twice before finally realizing I just had no business working with it.  Damn fine job on that Chuck, I think my hill did not live up to the end of the bargain.

Coincidentally, if you look at the cover to the Berkley edition of REH's People of the Black Circle, you will notice that this is fairly close to the way the figure was sculpted.

There was also another cover for the Berkley editin of REH's The Hour of the Dragon which was also immortalized in old Citadel lead, in their Barbarians range

I found those figs in a bargain bin still blister packed at a convention a long, long time ago, and thought, those two might make damn good Conans.

Thanks again for the great work on that, it makes me happy to see him here in color, ready to spring into action.  Now, we have to bust our butts and get some serious playtesting going on Broadsword Adventures.

Here's a couple Reaper Barbarians that would feel quite a home in Cimmeria.

This fellow is one of my older models, a little too orangy for my taste.

I like the paint job on this guy quite a bit, altough His Axe would use some more love.
