Great job! You really do swell tentacles. That's a rare talent.

I hope to take better pictures because on these colors turned out too pale (have no idea why actually... :? ), for instance first pic in the topic got much more "juicy" colors than the final ones...
anyway - I hope one day I'll be able to put my hamers in similar situation to the photo, IA IA IA SHUB NIGGUTARH!!!

@StevenK: go for it! there's never enough of tentacle-monsters! :D

She has a tentacle frowing from her nose then?

Nice work, like the cheme on the tentacles, very good wet look. Bit like Flipper gone mental.

@wayswatcher: maybe Plynkes wanted to say that his grandmother used to live  beneath cursed sands of iraq-desert?

Not quite, but she did go on holiday to Israel once. Perhaps the Negev is where this scene is actually happening?

well according to the book the adventure happens in Kirkuk in iraq, but because iraq is not far from israel - I can modify the adventure... the plane can crash, can be hijacked by mad cultists, attacked my yuggoth air forces or whatever

I was just going to complement you on the chosen color scheme on the tentacles. Pale pinkish-grey...or is it greyish-pink. No I apparently have to withdraw that compliment! ;-)

Something just struck me:

is it possible that Tolkien had read Lovecraft when he wrote that bit about the Watcher in the Water?

Or is it just a bit of plain old medeival kraken mythology thrown in?

It is possible, but Tolkien strikes me as the kind of chap who wouldn't be seen dead reading 'trash' like that. Except maybe in secret under the covers when there weren't any other Oxford University professors around.
