Anyone gaming with Bowen's 40mm Gotterdammerung?
« on: May 12, 2007, 12:18:12 AM »
I've been eyeing Jim Bowen's "Gotterdammerung" 40mm Weird War II range forever and I love the character his sculpts have. The one hang up I have is that the 40mm figures just don't look right with 28mm terrain.

Anyone here using this range for gaming? Thoughts?

Hi Todd - you know I do - but then I have a vested interest. I use some 28mm scenics from the US - Battlefield??? or something like that - the guy works out of NY? and you had a thread on TMP this week trying to contact him - anyway I have a good 6 of his buildings which work fine. I also use my own Monolith Church ruins, and some pre-painted Build-a-rama 1/32 from the US - which are amazing value for money - ranging from around $20 to $50 each

I can highly recommend the Church ruins, I won as a wooden spoon in an Arthurian tournament a set of the paint ruins (painted by my good friend Frank Hammond late of Mongrel minis) they are superb

Heya Steve, yeah it was Jeff at Battleworks Studios who's since folded the company I beleive which is too bad.

My comment about 40mm and 28mm scenery wasn't meant to be a dig by the way. But you know me... I'm a heretic as you once called me. :)

That is bad - Apart from King & Country, and Build-a-rama, which are larger scale (1/32) Jeff's was the only other resin manufacturer in my collection. I hope he surfaces again

Wasn't taken as a dig - I know you're a fan of Jim's work, and always take any opportunity to promote it - which is appreciated!
