Not another introduction
« on: February 12, 2010, 07:25:48 PM »
Hi there, since I got my users deleted time after time, I finally read the fine-print and started posting.
However, it would be rude not introducing myself.

I'm Swedish (West Coast). Got started with the hobby at eleven and a half when a friend (a very, very spoiled one) got the box for Space Marine (epic). Mostly been stuck with it since then. However, I've always looked for options. So when Confrontation started to get a crowd I jumped the bandwagon. Then they killed the system. So I went back to the good ol' 40k.
But, the story doesn't end there. This is just the prolouge.

During a stormy, rainy night... Eh, during a summer night I stumbled across E-bay and thought it was a great idea to get rid of all that money I had in my pocket (intoxicated I had sworn to my friends that I'll never drink again). The bill said 160 dollars. That gave me somewhere around 100 Darkest Africa miniatures from Foundry.
I started the normal preperation work and got everything based and ready for the primer. But, since fate had others ideas for me (family, friends losing interest etc) I just stashed it away for two years.
And now (well 5 months ago) I actually got the stuff in the open again. Checked my idea book for the project (It's heavily influenced by the Phantom) and really got hooked again. So I spent another 100 dollars for some extra minis. My collection of Darkest Africa minis is somewhere around 180 now, so I might wait a bit with the buying phase before I've painted at least half of the miniatures.

Some friends have also started a zombie project so I bought some hasslefree as well. And a lot of 15mm Prussians for SYW. And some Perry Napoelonics. And some BAM British Paras. And...

But! The reason for hanging around on this board (apart for the obvious "Wow"-posts, which there is a lot of here. Thank you all!) is to inspire myself to actually paint the miniatures I have :)
Which I have!
Will hopefully post it this week when the basing is done :)

Thank you prof for launching this forum. Probably the nicest one around :)

/S

Another fellow Swede! Great! I'll ask Alex to add you to the LAC(Sweden) board.

Oh come now that's not very sporting of you. How are you going to build a lead mountain that way.
