How about one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/CORGI-1-50-STEAM-GARRETT-CD-E-W-FARROW-ADVENTURER-20306_W0QQitemZ290116998393QQihZ019QQcategoryZ56318QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Just right for 28mm and with a little bit of re-painting it would match the photo pretty well?

And this ones even got a trailer with bales of hay, which could be adapted with new solid wheels to produce a colonial 19th century version:

And it's from a German ebay trader...perfect!

Went looking for steam tractors at one of the better local train and model stores.  Found no steam tractors, but much to my surprise :o the clerk pointed out their tiny actual working steam engines.  Just add water and a fuel pellet and it does its little steam engine thing!  I was told that there were many varieties of actual small steam engines.  My mind boggled at the possibilities for using these little engines on the game table...

Careful with that! Live Steam Engines get very, very hot, so unless you take considerable precaution against accidental touching (such as placing it inside a building, but how do yo watch it, then!), IŽd rather go without it.

I have taken a photo of the resin 28mm traction engine that I have but have no idea how to upload it, if anyone has any advice let me know.

Thank you Prof.

All I have to do now is remember the maker's name (other than the ebay seller PMC Games).

They were mainly selling large terrain boards at the show that I bought this from, but I can't remember their name. Next time I see them I will ask.

EXACTLY! That's the original Airfix one, but the Dapol one is from the same moulds, so it's identical.

Take it. It's good value, even if you would only use the boiler parts ...

They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....
