More Casualties of War <graphic>
« on: February 14, 2010, 02:41:10 PM »
Finished 4 civillian casualties fro SGTS' MESS.

Suitable for quite a few periods (depending on the paintjob), I have just 2 minor quibbles with these. They are flashy (maybe I had a bad batch, who knows) and they are very small. Compared to my SHQ they are ok-ish, but Liberation and Brittania are huge compared to them, so note that when you order them. Having said that, they are all lying flat and you won't notice it, but I had them next to my VC casualties from Brittania and then the difference is very obvious.

Suitcases are just plasticcard, the open one had some paper added cut to size to resemble clothes, on my standard round bases and my European flocking and tufting. Will do fine for my zombie, Chernobyl and WW2 and Modern gaming alike.

Those are great! Very nice little dioramas.

My only quibble would be that if they are for modern/near future games (as suggested by the Spar bag) that maybe they use a little too much brown in the palette.  The two standing figures have a 1970s or even 1940s look to me, rather than a modern/near future one.  But maybe it was intentional to make them period generic (as you suggest in your first post).

Really nice painting nonetheless :)

Correct ;)

Since refugees are not needed very often, if at all, I keep them as drab as possible and mix in the occasional more modern bit. That way I can use them for all of my games, Pulp included. Photoshop can do wonders to remove the items that make the shot look odd and most gamers should be too busy with the game to be bothered by those details

Anyway, my next lot that I am painting now includes a small girl with a Hello Kitty suitcase I did last night, always nice to work on a 5x4mm canvas to test ones skillz  lol
