Serenity a Western Town
« on: March 07, 2010, 12:37:46 PM »
This is a town I built a few summers ago. It's called Serenity and of course it's anything but that! It's populated by some of my miniatures.

Saloon and Hotel

Jail and Water Tower

Gunfight at a corral

Bank and Land Office

Miners shack

Good to see you found your way to here too, Christopher. Welcome at a fun place! I really liked your buildings on your blog, but these photos are bigger and show them better.

Love that saloon. Those short horizontal boards between the uprights. Don't think I've seen that before. Very nice.

Ty and yes it's a nice place.I don't have much that fits into this forum just yet,but what I really like is this new subject matter here.Several topics open up whole new possibilities to explore ones imagination with things like Atlantis,Weird WWII and other pulp subjects that never really occurred to me.Modeling ideas and exploration ideas have just been realized! :)Only problem is I already have 10,000+ other projects I'm working on or interested in!I'm hopeless! lol

Cheers
Christopher

Very nice looking figures, buildings and terrain. Do you also game? If so, which rules do you use?

How did you do your signs? Do you paint the paper, print the lettering, that kind of stuff? I have to make signs for my buildings and I am still trying to figure out the best way to do it. Any and all help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

By the way...welcome to LAF.
Regards,
Hitman

I printed them and then did some repainting and weathering.

Now that's just great!

I like how you base all the scenery items and accessories.  Looks good, and is easy to move about (I didn't do nthat with my 28mm western town, and end up pouring detail items out of a box and long set ups :(  )

That marshall's office, the saloon, everything, is just great!

Christopher, you should add a colonial game into your repetoie (sp?), we can always  use great terrain makers on the Colonial Board.   Darkest Africa, it's your future!   lol

If I remember right on these I used water downed ink wash that you apply like painting in other words use controlled application and not just wipe the whole area.I hope this helps. :)
