Yet another Westwind weird war two walker, this time converted for 20mm!

Dr Porche has been busy, he has the ear of the Fuhrer, and as the new offensive in the east gathers pace in the autumn of '46, new wonder-weapons are seen alongside more conventional forces....

i'm sure one of the native german speakers here could point out any poor translation of the name Armourd War Giant for me?
(I used Babelfish so... i expect it may be a tad iffy?) :?

Basically a 28mm PanzerMecha from Westwind, which i picked up at Salute... but i "tweaked" it for 20mm....

(pic from westwind's site)

the original hatch was plated over with plasticard, then a cupola from a Revell Tiger I was added... because the join between the body and the cockpit was rough, this was tidied up with plasticard strip. the Revell tiger also donated an air vent, and its engine deck, which was jerry-rigged to make a new powerplant, the armoured exhaust covers from the Tiger I were stuck onto this... (i filled these with milliput and stuck the westwind metal exhausts into them) lifting rings were bent from brass wire, (five in all) and pinned in place in what i thought were logical areas and an ariel was added from brass rod too...
not a very involved conversion (its great when you can make stuff up!)
cos whose gonna say its wrong?
but its been great fun to do

Nice conversion!

I really like the camo pattern.

Thanks for the informational pics.  It's always neat to see how people pimp their minis!   :)   As for the German lingo, the only German I know comes from Rammstein lyrics!

Frickin´ awesome!!! :o

The first time I´ve seen a mecha with Hinterhalt Camouflage that actually looks good on it! Including mine!

Superb conversion. I particularly like the use of decals on the legs - "100 Meter Abstand" is a hoot! :)

Oh, and "Panzerkampfriese", while not being a common word, is perfectly correct.

Just awesome.

Great looking. How did you do the chipped paint? It doesn't look like gun metal to me but rather burnt umbre.

thanks all for the kind words!

the chipping was done with vallerjo SSCam.Blk Brown (I forget the bottle number)

the "100m Abstand" was a bit tongue in cheek, but then i thought a column of these on the march, if one topples over it'll take out the lot like dominoes! LOL! plus it gives it that german military mentality touch!

i'm glad the translation works... my german is also pretty much poor school boy/Rammstein lyric sheets also!

"Panzerkampfgigant" at a guess although I'm sure I'll be corrected...
They were all drawn to the Keep; the soldiers who brought death; the father and daughter fighting for life; the people who have always feared it; and the one man who knows its secret....

I am really not into these WW2 Mechs, but this thing looks sooo cool, I can't get it. :o
The base is just 'convincing' and the effect of a battle worn look of the machine is really nice.
Need one....now...
