Bronze Age and Parroom Martians (John Carter)
« on: May 28, 2007, 02:45:09 PM »
Hi,
I am back! A nice vacation is over and I am again painting.  :)
I got interested in the Martian adventures of John Carter or in the Space 1889 setting. I searched the net for suitable miniatures to play some games and was amazed that there are many suitable ones.
The  miniatures below are from Bronze Age minis and Parroom minis, while the scenery head is from Fantascene.

More on my website: http://www.agisn.de/index.html...
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - http://www.adpublishing.de

Very tempting. I didn't know the Bronze Age and Parroom figures work that well together. 8)

I was also amazed how well they suit each other. Both mini lines are very bad presented on the net and you really have to search some pictures...
But the patience is well rewarded.
The Bronze Age 4armed Martians are really breathtaking, one is already primed and standing on the table to be painted...

Maybe I should write some rules for them for Chaos "in Carpathia" - ahem "on Mars"???

If you compared green martians to green martians, they wouldn't. Everything else seems to blend quite nicely.

Agis, beautiful job! I love David's miniatures and am thrilled whenever some get showcased online.

As far as rules, my Fantastic Worlds ruleset will be out in November and will include everything you need to play Barsoomian adventures!

True, the green martians of both companies are NOT working together.
But IMO the Bronze Age Martians are just RIGHT and very fitting when reading the description of Edgar Rice Burroghs...

Thanks a lot!  :)
The skin was a bit of an effort, it took me as long as painting the Thoat...
But I just wanted the Thoat as fast finished as possible, the next one will be more detailed.

Agis, do post more pics as you progress please, I'd very much appreciate seeing these minis made to look good...

It's amazing how much a good paint job does to help sell a mini.

Does that beastie have six side legs and two central ones?

Looks very cool, very nicely painted.

Hot damn, indeed! Darn hard to see the missing two, though. I´d love to have a decent Sleipnir miniature, by the way...

Yes my old Russian friend, onward to Mars!

Bronze Age: The Thoats are only on the Yahoo Group mentioned and shown (as usual the official site is Waaayyyy behind the real life releases!):
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/Bronzeageminiatures/
Best way is to mail David directly, he is a very nice and kind guy.

For the 4 armed Martians look under Wasteland Mutants:
http://www.bronzeagemin.com/miniatures_html/25MM/SCI-FI/sci-fi28mm.htm
The other minis are also grea, I got the 4 armed Apes which are splendid!
The Humans are a bit thin for my taste, but very Frazetta like.

Parroom:
Also a tricky one. There online shop is here:
http://www.thelondonwarroom.com/The%20London%20War%20Room%20E-Commerce%20Store.htm#VICTORIAN%20SCIENCE
You then has to search the sub sections.

Look them up there, you can order them in Europe at Newline Deshn.

Hope that helps.
