1/120 TT scale might fit, but there are mostly German train models where you´d need British...

British TT should do then..... 1/102.5

Blue Moon sells a 15mm train (it's a working one) but I have never seen.  Probabably more Old West?  I don't know.

British and German TT scale sets  is prohibitively expensive in Florida.  A specialty item, to be sure.

BTW, I would assume that everyone uses a real, electric, running train for gaming (just as a fun effect) or not?

TT it is
for Sudan You have to do a bit of research in locomotives, but I wouldn't bother too much.
try TT scale at Ebay Germany, might be cheaper

yeah, runnin trains ;)
don't know about others, mine are actually working, but there is no point in activating a train loaded with miniatures - they would topple over in 28mm, the engine is too powerful.
Also, not much use for 2,50 m, and I don't thing anyone wants to wargame with an oval on the table  ;)

for a large display setup, why not

Absolutely, model trains should be running. I am just motorising a solid resin armoured train.

:o - no fooling around with the TRAINMASTER  ;)
Which train is it? the 28 mm project?

I must say I failed in this aspect
firstly, I tried to have full transmission on all wheels - did not work
secondly, too dangerous to have painted miniatures toppling from electric trains
so the only thing I could do is running the trains in a "no gaming" display set-up or prior to the actual gaming.

but never mind, I recognize I am an amateur when it comes to true railway modelling so I'll have to be content with what I have achieved

LOL!  Like my little nephews idea, of setting up a zombie table, so he could "Death Race 2000" my figures with his 1/64 scale remote cars.

I passed, but will paint up those Twiliught rubber zombies for him, no danger there.

 :)

For my 15mm Sudan collection I did a modification of the Peter Pig Wild West train.  You can see some pictures of it posted at www.warin15mm.com/The-Sudan.com.
