Atomare Bindeslängde Schrumpfer Kanon

Prussians are chasing the British victims of the latest horrifying invention of Fabian Hertz (unknown brother of Heinrich Hertz) - The ABS-kanon! (the atomic binding length shrinking kanon)

Thank you gents.

I seem to have an affinity for pouring rubbish science over you people.  lol

At the time where our games are set the existence of the atom is still hotly debated.

But seriously. There is no way to explain a shrinking ray.   o_o
Although unobtainium is probably the answer...

There's no way to explain the invasion of Mars in 1889 either...  ;)

So that makes it fine!!!  :D

It's all about the alternative history there!
Like what if Hitler was accepted to Vienna school of Art...

Or what if Elvis Presley was never popular.

Then Stalin would have laughed all the way to the bank.. or something!  lol

Haha. So in your universe E = Mozart^2.

I like the idea of adding semi historicals to the background. My Fabian Hertz is another example. I am more reserved of using real chars though. OK - that's more of an issue in WW2 gaming though, as a lot of the characters are a bit dodgy at best.

That's perfectly explainable! There's Martians, they're out of unobtainium and now they're coming here to get ours. Period.  ;)

Exactly. They tried in 10,000BC (causing the sinking of Atlantis), now it has re-appeared again, they want it!

The shrinking ray works by Pneumonihilizing Tenseo-stimulation, as anyone with a Doctorate in Specualtive Physics will tell you. Bombarding a subject with the right wavelength of Aetheric Flux (itself a result of the application of galvanic pressure on the Luminiferous Aether, for instance through the use of Aetherium/Unobtanium oscilators) makes all the matter in the victim's body crowd more tightly together (called 'Gravetic Densification'), making them smaller. As the name suggests, it also (through conservation of matter and energy) makes them denser (but not heavier).
