just found that on the Black Tree site:

"Summer 2007 will be a WWII Extravaganza. The following are planned:

British Commandos – When the British Army had those tough, dangerous missions, the Commandos were called into action. Although few in number, the impact they had on the enemy was astounding. Beautiful Command and Characters and all manner of Specialists. We can't wait!

British 8th Army – Whether your interests lie is North Africa or Italy, the 8th Army is for you! Stunning Commanders, Riflemen, Bren Gunners, to name but a few. Finally some Desert Rats to challenge the Afrika Korps! "

they look good.

I like the look of the top one, reminds me of old Timpo plastic figures. If the whole 8th Army range is like that I'll get some.

The middle guy looks wrong, the posing and the uniform aren't right. British battledress is much more baggy than that, particularly the trousers.

The last chap is a Paratrooper so I'll wait and see. I think I'd rather have Artizan Paras if I got any.

Looks good!  I'd be interested to see more of the 8th Army guys, especially the officers!

Matakishi is right about British battledress, which was the ugliest military uniform ever. It appears to have been designed with the cunning idea of persuading the enemy that the British army was made up entirely of dumpy flabbos, and not to worry about them.

I remember those Timpo figures from my youth. Although, like most soft plastic figures, they tended to have their arms squashed agaisnt their bodies, and equipment appeared to be a sort of tumour growing out of their torsos. That I can live without --- H

The advantage Black Tree usually has is on price, they're cheaper but they often have weird poses.

Bolt Action, Artizan and Foundry all make better Paras, while Artizan has a great 8th Army Range.

They appear to have changed their sculptor.
The old Harlequin stuff is great, but the stuff they added after that was just rubbish.  Glad to see that the latest stuff looks to be better sculpted.

I like the 8th army guy.  Not enough 8th army out there in classic dress.  I also want to see early 8th army officers wearing the peaked cap and shorts!

The airborne chappie also looks promising.  I like the pose, and the beret in the epaulette is a nice touch!

You are right about the late-war rifleman.  Looks somehow off.  The pants are not baggy enough, and the leggings should be visible.

Funny how the 1944 German uniform is said to have been inspired by British battledress!  (when the Germans had to cut back on costs!)
