That is a really nice base of figures. Very nicely painted. Clean, crisp yet smooth at the same time. They reminded me of the little animal characters from the Disney animated film of Robin Hood. (The little rabbit...Skippy, his 2 sisters and Toby the turtle.) Thanks for sharing.

I am always fascinated by basing, so it would be very much appreciated to know how you got that excellent texture and the colours you used.

Texture:  My standard basing mix.  Polyfilla, water and sharp sand.  Built up in layers.  (I keep it mixed in a jar.)  The Rocks at the back of the base - just greenstuff.

Colours used:  Light sand - lot of yellow in it.  Minipaints.  Washed with cheap acrylic paint dark brown.  Drybrushed the sand clour, then Ivory.  I allow everything to completely dry.  The wash, for example.  I will do that at the end of a painting session so the base is not touched until the following day.

Static grass applied last.

Many thanks. I've not heard of the MiniPaint range before. Tried Google to find the light sand without any luck.
