Some info and pictures about the homemade armored cars the Shelton Brothers and Charlie Birger had built in Southern Illinois in the 20's

Some interesting stuff ,other than builitproof limos I had'nt heard about armored vehicles  and airplanes being used in gang warfare, outside of pulp magazines! could make for some good scenarios ,Thanks

Birger's truck would be an easy convert from the Matchbox model T, the Shelton one might as well. Unfortunately neither could then be used for casting.

The Birger armored car was based on a Reo car.
