All thanks to this forum, these would still be sitting in my workshop half done if i hadn't been inspired and motivated by the posts here.
I started the check pattern on the boy with the hood on the right but that just drew the eye there and not the center of the unit where it should be. So I added checks to a few more places but the only areas free were a few pouches so it didn't help much. Then I figured the gong would do it, I had meant to leave this plain but it is growing on me the way it is now. It certainly rebalanced the unit.
I only do conversions with old minis, even simple reversible ones like this, if I have an identical spare or it is broken with missing bits. I'd also always wanted a musician for the boar boys so wining an extra gong was a stroke of luck.
I have 30+ gobbos to paint now, perhaps I should do batches with a treat paint in the middle.
