Ernys new old Greenskins.

Citadel Boar Boys, well boars with spear armed foot on, always liked those simple conversions. The original riders are stashed safely away. These are the first new paints I have posted and I think they are a step up from the previous posts.

... and the repetition of the winged skull on the gong!

Great stuff - I have that musician in the paint queue - great conversion.

Mine are still languishing in the queue - Ruglud's lot did me in I think! Still need to get hold of that standard bearer too...  ::)

Nice terrain as ever  :D

All thanks to this forum, these would still be sitting in my workshop half done if i hadn't been inspired and motivated by the posts here.

I started the check pattern on the boy with the hood on the right but that just drew the eye there and not the center of the unit where it should be. So I added checks to a few more places but the only areas free were a few pouches so it didn't help much. Then I figured the gong would do it, I had meant to leave this plain but it is growing on me the way it is now. It certainly rebalanced the unit.

I only do conversions with old minis, even simple reversible ones like this, if I have an identical spare or it is broken with missing bits. I'd also always wanted a musician for the boar boys so wining an extra gong was a stroke of luck.

I have 30+ gobbos to paint now, perhaps I should do batches with a treat paint in the middle.

Yep think that's the way forward - need to get on with my Harboth archers and the rest of my boar boyz  ::) (which are quite a treat anyway!)

Step away from the character models...!  ;D

It did take some willpower to paint up Rugluds and leave the command group till last!

Very nice Erny.  I've always gotten a kick out of GW's boar riders.

I really like how you did the gong to match the banner.
