WWI East Africa
« on: April 26, 2010, 05:04:56 AM »
Hello!  I'm new to posting on here.  I'm very interested in WWI East Africa if anyone would like to share ideas, book recommendations, mini pics, figure resources, uniform guides, etc.

Thank you!

I typed in East Africa for WW1 in the search engine and so if you do the same you will get the results you need.

Hope that helps,

Helen

I'd recommend Osprey's "Armies in East Africa 1914-18" as a great starter...

There's quite a few books out there, some of my favs are:

Brian Gardner "On to Kilimanjaro"
Leonard Mosley "Duel for Kilimanjaro".

I'm still hoping to get "Marching on Tanga" at some point.
They call me "Point Cow"

Thanks for the ideas!  As you know books on the subject are few and far between.

I believe that "Marching On Tanga" is in the public domain now...try here to download a PDF (or some other format):

http://www.archive.org/details/marchingontangaw00younrich

A search in that archive on "East Africa" seems to be getting some other good hits! (just tried it now!).  Good hunting gang!
