Need this guy as a figure - suggestions?

The pose isn't important, more the style.

Unless I'm mistaken, this is going to be a conversion. Start with the base model and work your way up. Maybe something like:

Or even Heresy's Boris the Barbarian.

The animal's head could be obtained from a D&D mini, or even from a dollar store bag of animals. A little bit of green stuff and some other bits on the hands and feet and I think it could look quite smashing.

For his sword use one from a GW plastic lizardman. Depending on what sort of animal you wan for the headress, uou could also look at using the upper jaw of a plastic lizardman.

Perhaps troll some Mythology based ranges for a Hercules? I know I've seen Hercules figures with similar armament, and it sort of makes sense. Skin of the Nemean Lion, club, and all that.

Some useful suggestions, thanks guys. I was pretty much expecting I'd need to convert but you never know what'll turn up when you ask :)

I have some lizardmen weapons ready to go oddly enough Dave  ;) I just need a hulking Aztec/Mayan type to weild them.

Basically I'm after a Jaguar knight type guy but with a skin over his head and shoulders rather than the silly suit thing.

The concept is awesome!

The resulting figure, not so much...

Any good Mayan/Aztec/Inca character/hero figs out there?

How about Viking ulfhednar ?

I think Gripping Beast used to have some.

Good choice - one of these might be a good basis for this concept.

do a search for "barbarian" on Reaper's site:

http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/Barbarian

Here's a couple quick grabs from a search there:
