Very useful Richard. Didn't someone also suggest a white background only round? Can't remember who though?

That might be a good idea for a mandatory round - no scenics, let’s see the paintwork - rather than an optional theme bonus?

Yes, I think that was the idea. It arose during a discussion about whether people were voting for the painting or the composition. I think we should try it out.

I might do a blurb on cropping et cetera, if that's of any use?

As we approached the last BSC there was a theme suggestion for micro builds. I deemed this being akin to "markers" which I thought would be more suitable for a LPL. I think casualty, treause and object marker, just to name a few, would be a nice theme for a a round.

Several interesting, and funny, themes on that list... :)

There are some great possibilities in the list and I see a couple that would fit with what I'm already painting which is always a bonus.

I think the best types of round though are those which can be more varied in the type of entry you get.  This is probably a bit of a bind for the adjudicators deciding if something is or isn't a valid bonus entry. Looking at the below a Texan round would seem to me to be lots of Alamo type figures against each other (although this makes the voting more equal) as opposed to small scale which could be anything.

Quite like the idea of board game figures, especially with the rise of the kickstarter miniature games and presumably change in gaming habits.  However if you haven't already got a board game with figures sourcing at a reasonable price may be far more difficult

I think that would be very useful Guy. Getting a good photo is almost as important and the painting of the figures.

Mighty feats of courage — being representations of heroic acts of valour, either by literary or real characters.
