After a long and hard search (not really) I found none in our blessed scale so I thought, why not.

Using 1.5mm styrene in combination with 3mm wide 1mm thick rare earth magnets, I created these:

The one on the left is 8mm tall on a 4x4mm square, the one on the right the same but varies in length (I'll make quite a few lengts, anyway)

Today I made these:

The round knob thing has a magnet inside it too, was looking to make that into an old fashioned 3 lense camera. Or something or other.

Now to test it's flexibility.

Due to the magnets, components can be switched freely:

In fact, so freely, that I have finally found my system for mounting camera's or defensive guns or vid-screens inside the bunker:

And in case you are wondering, yes, it is compatible with my Springers, Goliaths and future robotic builds. Of course, it's all a bit rough now, I'm still testing the possibilities, and seams need to be filled and flash trimmed. But these are the basics. The smaller ones have a hole punched through so the magnet works both ways, the bigger ones only had a magnet on one side as that is more then enough to keep it positioned. Though on 1 or 2 magnets it slides a bit, as soon as it has paint the fitting will be better. I'm eyeing a few more types of welding robots, but thought to start with this basic and instantly recognisable one.

Hope you enjoyed and didnt strain the mind too much as to the why and how. I stopped doing that years ago :)

Keep your eye open for updates on this one
