Wizards of the Coast Star Wars minis
« on: August 05, 2010, 05:02:08 PM »
I've looked at these a few times, but never bought any as I don't know how they scale up against other stuff I've got (EM4, Infinity, GW, EM4/Copplestone, etc), does anyone have any scale pictures and know of a good place to get them on the right hand side of the atlantic?
Thanks,
Duncan

The figures are on average on the larger size, around "30mm scale" rather than a true 28.  They tend to be thin, and more realistically proportioned. (hands and heads are close to scale, guns smaller etc).  Infinity is probably the closest in size, although obviously the ascetic is different.

Most of the early sets are great sculpts, however the last two or so sets were terrible.

The paint jobs are pretty iffy, however, if you are willing to do some basic work, and maybe add an ink wash, you should be well rewarded by 90% of the figures.   I got all my figures (in the US) from Ebay, usually in lots comprised of multiples of single figure types  (e.g. Stormtrooper #34 x5)
