Splendid, it looks lovely alongside the other ill fated ship. Lets hope you don't experience a similar outcome on its maiden voyage ;) :D

To be fair, has a Nef ever survived it's first engagement on our games?
So many projects..... so little time.......

Lovely stuff  :-* :-*
How many of these are you intending to build in the long run?

Thanks chaps. This one won't get shot down in the first turn because I'm not going to use it  ;D

How many of these are you intending to build in the long run?

I have plans for another small one the same size as this one. A troop transport that can carry the walkers etc and has a front loading door. A small but fast armoured ram and a couple of armoured cruisers (battleships).

I'm also thinking on some sort of artillery platform that floats and is moveable (albeit slowly), then there's the liner that I started ages ago and the Chinese.

Fantastic as always.  What do you coat your foam hulls with before painting?  I would be afraid of damage to them from rough handling.  What's your solution?

A good couple of coats of slightly watered down PVA or wood glue. Evostick being a good one as it dries rather hard. Don't put the coats on too thick though or it will look odd when it's painted.

If there enough coats it can be sanded to a nice smooth finish aswell (I do't bother though  lol )

Some more figures done, this time a normal infantry squad. I must say, I'm rather pleased with the Copplestone Chinese converting into earlier Japanese without to much fuss. Obviously there are differences, but it's VSF  :D

Anyway, onto the photos. The banner needs doing and they need a coat of matt varnish and some red growies on a couple of the bases.

And rather a dark family photo  :D

I have a mounted officer, a cavalry unit and another normal infantry unit to finish before I buy more. The next batch will be in summer uniform which was an off white, still looking for a suitable colour for it.

cheers

James

Wow those are rather kick-ass. I really like the bots, cool stuff man.

That's one thing I like about this forum, there's so much pulpy/sci-fi stuff going on. You need a fu-man-chu/Flash Gordon's ming-like bad guy to be the ultra-leader of that crew now to tell that Armiral type fella what to do now.

Ooooh those are nice!

Really good looking miniatures. I'm also contemplating an Asian VSF mercenary band of some sort.

Oh yes, they hit the spot nicely. The subtle hint of red on the bases will work well for that off world feel without overdoing it.

All very nice, James (for VSF nonsense, that is  ;))

(Oooh bugger - I forgot, I've got some too now haven't I...   ::))
