Looking for Arab posters (pictures of completed project)
« on: July 25, 2007, 05:33:03 PM »
I need a few posters in Arab letters for a commission. My first thought was to search the internet for suitable pictures and resize them, but I'd like to avoid things like writing "All ****ing infidels must ****ing hang!" in big letters on the building, the possibility of which is always present, since my knowledge of Arab is basically non-existent.

If anyone could point me to something suitable, preferrably advertising like the pdf-posters from The Virtual Armchair General, it would be much appreciated.

I have been to the Middle-east and there are a large number of non-political posters all over the place. Our western media does a horrible job of humanizing Arabs. So, I did a google image search of 'Cairo Posters' and found this excellent site of non-political posters and billboards:

Hope that helps,

Very good, thanks a lot.

I have to agree with your comment regarding the western media, though. But then, portraying people as raving lunatics attracts so much more watchers (and therefore advertising customers - money, in the end) than ordinary people going on with there lives. Oh well.

I like the Star Wars posters 8)

That and it makes it easy for them to convince everyone to roll over the region with their war mongering.

Glad I could help, please post pics of the project when it is done!

Here are a few pictures of my project.

The setup is more post-apocalyptic than middle-eastern in my opinion, but the customer intends to use them for Battlefield Evolution, hence the Arab posters.
