Hopefully folks will remember to put the printed side of the CD facing downwards.

It gives extra meaning and memories to the piece by being able to see what the CD originally was!

 ;)

I need several terrain elements for a fantasy campaign. They could all be based on a CD so I'll post an entry eventually.

A plea: can we all be careful that if we buy Michael Bolton CD's for this build he might think he has a surge of popularity and releases another one for his new army of fans!

I know I would feel guilty forever if I had a part in that. The World has suffered enough.

Though I shall forever be ashamed of it, it seems I will be known as "the Micheal Bolton Guy" on this forum (thanks a lot, Gamer Mac...). Still, I agree with Bezzo. Don't BUY a Michael Bolton CD, just RECYCLE one (like I did). Speaking of which, there are a lot of recyclable CDs out there, so please feel free to turn them into scenery. The World will thank you one day...

(BTW, I'll post an update of my CD project late today or tomorrow, so keep an eye open!)

Yours truly,

Sir Dryden

Greetings

Okay..I bite... WHO is Michael Bolton??

(Right Wikipedia, youtube and such, still the question had to be asked, don't you agree ??)

Auntie Edith says: "Okay, I listened to Micheal Bolton's voice and must admit: I am not amused!" :D

As long as the base is CD size can the upper levels/storeys or whatever overhang?

Let me put it this way: I am not going to I thread a 120mm tube over the model to check how wide it is.  :)

Posting this idea here because I'm not sure I'll have time to make it within the contest guidelines.  Even if I do, feel free to steal the idea:

My idea was to take a cheap plastic wineglass, such as you'd get at varieties of the Dollar Store, and use it as the spire for an elevated alien house.  I'd make the house out of Dollar Store plastic plates.

Instead of a wineglass, a cheap plastic fluted vase would also work.  This would fit on the CD easily, and you could vary the heights by your choice of spire.
You, sir, are not allowed to attempt a takeover of the solar system until your octopus sobers up.

Greetings

@Hammers: err..why did you make a "buildsomething2@tsome.com" address? Why not make a generic buildsomething? I know this is the second installment of the comp thus a mail-addie "buildsomething2" is okay.
But from what I see here bs2 won't be the last build something contest ;) With a generic bs addie you could have reused the same address over and over :)

A well..not really important but just curious I am

Jo

You know, all you need to do is to use the address and I'll take care of the photos, alright? :)

If you really want to know we moderators don't share mail servers and access . Overlord run this thing last time and I set up this account on my personal server just to make my personal management easier.

Hi Hammers.  Can I just check if you got my entry?

PS:  Hint for anyone else sending their entry from a hotmail account.  DO NOT attach the images as images as they will be rescaled.  If you have 800x800 images and want them to stay that way, attach the images as files.
