Well, I've had a bit of time to work on some loose ends here, and I've embarked on my next project... Pulp adventures!

So, my plan: lots of pictures, conversions, and fun.

First up, an Egyptian art dealer who could be more trouble than what he first appears...

Next, a fierce buccaneer...

And here is a member of a small, private army (he has lots of friends coming soon)...

And last up, a trusty vehicle for those long archaeological expeditions!

I know! I'm cheating though... I built a desert board and some adobe ages ago, this is just a continuation. But, I have also been making tonnes of jungle terrain for an upcoming D&D game so I'm using it for pulp stuff too

While I haven't had any time for photos yet, this weekend has been a busy one! A bit of a clue as to what I'm building next:

Well... a bloody big clue.

I'm wondering if anynoe has any documentation on how hot air balloons were constructed in the 30s? I'm not too big on historical accuracy for adventure gaming, but some resemblance would be nice!

You built a gas balloon
hot air balloons are open underneath the hull, to take up the hot air generated by
a gas burner that is fixed right below the opening on a crown on top of the basket.

However, I am not sure there were hot air balloons at that time used in this way, because there is a lot of fuel necessary for a prolonged flight

the one in Your source picture certainly isn't a hot air balloon

Oh and a little bit of terrain I've been putting together. I'm sticking to a desert theme for a while, or else I'll never get a bloody thing done!

The balloon looks like it'll be a fun addition to a game, and I really like the look of that rock outcropping - what did you use for the rocks?

I made the basic shape from foam, covered it in a sandy mix with some bits of shale and other rocks bits on the top (the step looking things). The actual face of the rocky outcrop is cork bark. Captain Blood's latest table has some on it too. If you liked that then hopefully you'll like my next picture update!
