The Lord of Staffhurst (Yes, more Perry WoTR)
« on: August 28, 2010, 07:35:27 PM »
Here are some more Perry WoTR figures which I've have done for some time, but have been committed to a painting competition elsewhere, so not seen before in this group...

Most of the foot figures are slight conversions from the original plastic components.
The mounted figure is one of the metal personality figures.

Some close-ups...

Marvellous tone control, those really look like medieval dyes (from what I know about it, not that it's much). And I love how that grey sky in the last pic conveys the English locale. ;)

The paint jobs are as beautiful as ever but the final picture looks just like a setting depicted on one of those wall hangings they used to have in castles. Very moody and extremely well executed.
Kudos! :-*

I can't think of any superlatives to add to the ones already submitted... the colour combination was inspired too!  :)

Love the burgundy (if that's what it is as I'm slightly colour blind  ::) )

I think this might have been asked before but how many layers do you use for a typical colour (like the yellow etc)

cheers

James, three usually, sometimes with an added highlight.

Yeah, sorry about the lancers (Senor Malamute will have been weeping into his tequila  ;)). There again, none of us were ever going to get past abbot_amaury, so twas rather academic...  ::)

It's a funny thing with the photos - I always used to use scenic settings for competition entries, but then I noticed that it's the 'clinical' blue or white backdrop shots which always seem to win...  ::)
But I do agree, the scenic shots are better  :)
