Ghosts and Gunmen
« on: August 31, 2010, 11:17:33 AM »
The concept of Cowboys and Ghosts (titled Spite) thread was interesting.

How do the current rules for Ghost games handles "ghosts," would they be capable of being defeated by cowboys?  Or would they need to find the "waiting to die of old age" indian Shaman and protect him from more material beasties as he cleanses the town of evil spirits?

Gracias,

Glenn

Not sure if you use them, but the Strange Aeons rules handle ghosts very nicely, IMHO, especially in regards to poltergeists. (The official SA ghost rules are free to download from the Strange Aeons Web site.)

Essentially, ghosts are immune to all physical attacks (except those from "blessed" weapons). However, ghosts may still be defeated by enemies without such weapons. In the case of the poltergeist, opponents' models may search the board for the ghost's mortal remains. Once the remains have been found, a model may spend its turn to purify them and dispel the entity. (For some reason, I have a mental picture of Sam and Dean from Supernatural digging up a grave, the salt and gasoline waiting nearby...)

Just what I was thinking as you described the rules  :)

Not "Gothic" horror, but I might get into "Supernatural" gaming. It's a great show, with lots of gaming potential and I have more than enough Classic Rock for the background music.

I just need to buy and paint all the figures and models   :(
