Indian Mutiny game at Partizan
« on: September 06, 2010, 05:53:24 PM »
By The SE Scotland Wargames Club, and Kevin...

An overview of the table.

The central feature, a Palace/Residency of some sort.

Other important buildings.

Native marketplace.

A well.

Draught elephant ~ very nice model.

As you can guess, I liked this game rather a lot.

Lovely stuff. ;D
I really like the small details in my games like the market stalls, civillians etc. I think they bring the table to life. I like it alot too. :-*

Nice buildings and figures, but the lack of proper terrain is detrimental to the overall appearance of the display, methinks. That piece of cloth definitely looks a bit bland to my eyes.

Don't think the nellie in the last shot is a Mutineer beast, by the way : the mahout and his crony are definitely Foundry figures, and so is the pachyderm - the Mutineer one does not have a strap at the back of the saddlecloth and its legs are posed differently.

The cloth may not be perfect, but given that they have probably got something like a 250 mile journey (each way) I'm happy enough to grant them a little leeway.

Nice figures, great terrain, but the tablecloth is indeed a bit of a let-down - not necessarily because it's cloth, but because the colour is sooo different from all the terrain. I think it would have benefitted tremendously from some thin spraypaint coatings in various browns and reds, just so the buildings stand out a little less.

Its a long way from Aberdeen/Edinburgh, so saving on terrain boards and sharing cars gets my vote, so I'll look the other way on the cloth colour. Anyway, it might just be my photos.... ;)

Great looking figures, buildings, accessories - all top-notch.
Have to agree about the tablecloth though  ::)
Completely understand what you say about transporting boards long distance, David. But can't help but wonder if a little bit of paint / texture on the dustsheet might have helped.

But each to their own. If they're happy, that's all that matters.

I think the buildings and figures look great.

I really like the market and well.

Looks great!
I would really like to go to one of the British shows, they seem to have more variety than the Swedish ones (40k, Fantasy, other GW stuff).

Some shows are first class.
Can you not arrange a family holiday that "coincides" with a show ?

I would love to, but I don't think the Mrs wish to go west when we usually go south ;)
Just have to bid my time, and try to plan the so-called business trip to Partizan next year...
