Space for new projects
« on: September 12, 2010, 12:57:05 PM »
I had to remove a few of my little people from the display cabinet to make space for successors. Before I put them away I took a couple of pictures to remember them while they sleep in the basement. They may not look that much, but are actually 200:

Beautiful pics! I really appreciate the mix-match crowd. This image could be a perfect cover art for a generic universal wargame. Where dot he amazons come from?

The amazons are Masquerade, Foundry, Shadowforge, I-Kore and a few more.
And that generic universal wargame will be coming indeed: Rules are in progress of writing at the moment...

Which pulp do you mean? Here are some Germans:
All had begun so well.
The weather was nice in September and the road conditions had been alright.

Then came the rain and all roads turned into mud.

It could be worse.
And it was.

It was in late November when the snow began to fall.
It never stopped.

Everything turned white and looked the same.
The command group spearheaded the convoy.
They got lost.

Unteroffizier Krämer took a look around from some raised position on the highest vehicle and checked the map.
The officers thought about it for a while and made a decision.

The leading reconnaissance vehicle was ordered to move forward as a scout.

The recce mission was accompanied and secured by infantry.

The officers were still thinking if it would be a good idea to get some hot coffee...

... when the scouts returned to report.

The situation was even worse than expected.
A junction was just a few hundred metres ahead, but it was neither signposted nor to find on any map.
The staff began to talk and think to find a solution.

They decided to send another scout mission that would divide into small groups at the junction and check each direction.
The soldiers were not keen to walk the distance on the icy road.

The officers were in doubt if the decision was right and began to argue.

The highest ranking ones went off to really get some coffee from the radio vehicle at last.

Unteroffizier Krämer was is despair.
He did not understand the high command.

Then came trouble.
There were two people among them who were on a special top secret mission.
One of them was called Leutnant Liliane.
Nobody knew what her real name or rank was.
Nobody dared to ask.

She sent for her boss.

Her boss was the sinister helper of a mysterious sorcerer named Dr. Thule.
Nobody had ever seen the Doctor, but his helper was fearsome enough for the most.

The helper was the nameless bearer of the amazing golden Spear of Destiny.
It was told that this spear could unleash bolts of lightning.
The zealot started to agitate.
He threatened to the absent enemy and he encouraged his men.

The few men rallied and assembled.

He spoke some final words.
The crowd cheered him up.

And off they went.

They vanished in the snow never to be seen again.

All that was left were the vehicles.

Well, that are fifteen figures and five vehicles in total that I built and painted for this entry since September.
There is still a StuG II, a Kübelwagen and a Flakvierling to paint.
I think they will neither be missed nor had helped to improve this entry.
I will enter them later if you wish.

AC

Greek/gladiators are from Reaper, Hasslefree and Shadowforge.
I´ll let you all know when the rules will be finished.

And Arktos: No basement accomodation...
