Painting block – be gone!
« on: September 26, 2010, 03:30:31 PM »
Painting block is rubbish. I've just had three months where I either haven't been able to pick up a brush, or if I have, not been able to get past the undercoating stage.

But finally today, I have a finished a mini!

He's a Victorian (well, ACW) gent from Redoubt, who has been half-painted in my lead pile for about six months. And to be honest it's a long way from my best paint job ever (and this has reminded me that I need some new brushes) but I'm posting him here mainly because I'm just utterly relieved that I've finally managed to actually finish something at last...

So, if anyone else out there is similarly blocked, and reading LAF with envious eyes because you can never finish anything: things will get better!

And a mighty fine gent he is too. Glad you are back on track and look forward to seeing your next forray with the new brushes - you did order some right?

I don't like the look of him. Looks the sort to feel up a young gentlewoman on a crowded railway platform and then blame the fellow standing next to him.

Lovely job, painting him, though. 'The slump' is a bitch, ain't it? My solution is usually to forget about your plans and projects for a bit and just paint single figures that interest you, until you get back into the swing of things.

Very swish looking cove.
Good to hear you're back painting again. We all go through it from time to time...  ::)
